NAT01 Examining the Chart’s Structure

9 Class Meetings
Prerequisites: Must have a general knowledge of fundamental astrology
Price: $420 early registration discount may apply; scroll to bottom

Course Description:

This introduces the basic structure of a horoscope. Each lesson, each semester builds on the one before, forming a composite of understanding -- a multi-dimensional view of the chart. Surprisingly, students within a class form a lasting friendships and alliances across states...across countries... and around the world! This brings the study of astrology into new proportions -- via the curriculum, as well as the Internet medium.

Some classes are held in a chat-room, while others are held with Citrix GoToMeeting. If you are new to either of these media, contact your instructor at least one week before the course begins to schedule a practice session.

All starting times below are listed in Eastern Time. Please use the guide on the Home Page to help you adjust your time to your particular time zone.

Syllabus:

Class Meeting 1: Great Circles

We begin this course by introducing the student to the Five Great Circles and how the intersections of the various Great Circles form the important sensitive points in astrological analysis. The correlations between the two dimensions of the ‘flat chart’ and the three dimensions of the celestial sphere begin to emerge.

Class Meeting 2: Hemispheres East/West and North/South

The horizon as a psychological symbolic division in chart synthesis is addressed this week. With the use of music, visual and sensory imagery and probing questions and answers, the student is inspired to think about the hemisphere division what it has symbolized through the ages.

Class Meeting 3: Quadrants

This combines the hemisphere divisions into four -- the Quadrants. There is an emphasis on proceeding slowly and thoroughly here in order to build the astrological foundation that ultimately houses the astrology chart.

Class Meeting 4: Temperament Patterns

Evaluating the Temperament Patterns of Dr. Marc Edmond Jones and many of his his colleagues is the foundation of this lesson.

Class Meeting 5: Quadruplicities & Triplicities

We delve into the phenomenon of the Triplicities and Quadruplicities and the 3/4 rhythm that permeates within astrology.

Class Meeting 6: Chart Signature

The subtle, yet powerful, influence of the Chart Signature and Sub-Signature can encourage the student to think toward deeper levels of understanding.

Class Meeting 7: History & Dignities

A brief look at astrology's history so the student gets a better appreciatation of the importance of Essential Dignity (Domicile, Exaltation, Detriment and Fall), as well as introducing astrological concepts such as Triplicity, Term, Face, Cazimi, and Combustion.

Class Meeting 8: History & Dignities Continued

Continuing to look at astrology's history so the student gets a better appreciatation of the importance of Essential Dignity (Domicile, Exaltation, Detriment and Fall), as well as introducing astrological concepts such as Triplicity, Term, Face, Cazimi, and Combustion.
