Class Meeting 1: More Astronomical Data & The Equatorial Ascendant This class addresses the precession of the Equinoxes and the factors that cause it. There is also a rigorous discussion of the distinction between the Tropical and Sidereal Zodiacs and the meanings of this distinction. Long and short ascension are studied and discussed. The conversation turns to introduce a new personal sensitive point - the Equatorial Ascendant. Here an important distinction comes up which never fails to intrigue, the difference between how we see ourselves and how others see us. The student learns to appreciate the precision of this point, along with the ascendant itself, in giving insight to this dichotomy. Class Meeting 2: The Vertex: Calculating the Vertex and Its Meaning as A Personal Point in Charts The formation of the Vertex is looked at as well as how the symbolism is derived. Understanding the Vertex necessitates an exploration of "Fate," what it means to each of us, why we may fear what we fail to understand and how the Vertex can give us valuable insights into this. There is also an examination of synastric contacts with the Vertex, both within the class structure and within the student's study charts. Class Meeting 3: Declination: Parallels & Contra-Parallels This week declination is introduced, along with the three systems of Celestial measurement. Parallels and Contra-Parallels of declination are discussed, explored, and distinguished from Antiscia and Contra-Antiscia. Class Meeting 4: Declination: Out of Bounds Here we discuss how maximum declination of the Sun factors in with the Earth's tilt, and discover why the planets, moon, and asteroids are not bound to this maximum declination and can be therefore found "out of bounds." Then we explore the meaning of out of planets and how this phenomenon enhances delineation. Calculation of Declination is covered this week as well. Class Meeting 5: Various House Systems; Derived Houses This week the student is introduced to various house systems, and an exploration of whether some systems are more valuable than others for specific purposes. Additionally, derived houses are covered here, showing the student how to aptly find information about how other people are reflected within the individual's chart, such as the sister's husband's mother. Class Meeting 6: Asteroid Goddesses In this class we examine the Asteroid Goddesses and the important symbolic significance they have in the horoscope. We make here, as in the previous week, important distinctions between the traditional, classic Archetypes and these newer discoveries. Rulership possibilities and how they may affect dispositorship patterns is also considered, as is the all-important communication and delineation of these fascinating Goddesses. Class Meeting 7: Fixed Stars This week takes a deep look at the fascinating traditions behind the Fixed Stars. We will familiarize ourselves with 13 of the brightest stars and open the doors of curiosity to the thousands of others in the sky. We will examine and delineate conjunctions to these 13 stars by Celestial Longitude in our own chart and in our work charts. Class Meeting 8: Fixed Stars Continued This week we will scrutinize the phenomenon of star Parans and use it to deepen both our curiosity and our experience with the 13 we covered last week. We will also ask how our new knowledge of Fixed Stars may be used in related areas like Mundane Astrology. Finally, we will learn to relate Fixed Star symbolism to integration in delineation. Class Meeting 9: Final Exam |
