Mundane - Introduction to Geo-Political Astrology (Elective Course)

8 Class Meetings
Prerequisites: This course is one of the electives for Professional Training students to become a graduate. It can be taken in any order after the completion of DPL02 and is included in the Diploma Module. This course is for Advanced Students ONLY!
Price: $400

Course Description:

Computer Programs:
As this class is online I’m assuming that all students have good astrology programs and can generate charts with little effort. We will be working with birth (and event) charts, ingressions, eclipses, transits, and astrocartography maps. I am familiar with Solar Fire which I strongly recommend, and have some experience with Kepler (excellent for mapping, but I find it otherwise difficult.) Any program you have and use, as long as it does the job, is fine. I can offer instruction on Solar Fire, but on other programs you’re on your own! (You should be able to calculate all charts – except the ACG maps – by hand if necessary, but that is not the job of this class!)

For the truly ambitious:

Abu Mashar: On Historical Astrology.
(1) Chart collections – Campion’s is especially recommended! I would consider this volume essential for continuing work in GPA. Penfield has other collections.
(2) The Carter, Green, and Zain books are small, and cover more or less the same info. I’ve seen a volume that contains all three together.

Homework:
All homework is due 48 hours before class. Two-page essays are ideal, but content is more important than length. If you have more to say, go for it. If it’s short, that can be fine, too.

Teacher contact info:
I don’t have “office hours” but am generally at my desk from 7 am to 6 pm PT most days. Errands, client consultations, and walking the dogs make actual presence at my desk unpredictable, but I’m here more than not and appointments are easily arranged. Feel free to IM or e-mail me any time. I also have skype.
