OCA Founder and President Ena Stanley Nominated for Regulus Award

OCA is pleased to announce that OCA Founder and President Ena Stanley has been nominated for the 2008 Marion D. March Regulus Award in Education for her work in the founding and development of the ONLINE College of Astrology.

The Regulus Awards began at the United Astrology Conference (UAC) in 1989 as a way of honoring outstanding astrological achievement in a variety of fields. They have since been presented at each UAC (1989, 1992, 1995, 1998, and 2002). Because the awards are voted on by all members of the UAC sponsoring organizations, they are among the ultimate of true peer recognition in astrology.

The 2008 awards will be given in five categories:

Research, Discovery, and Innovation: Recognizes one who has developed new tools or concepts to advance the study and practice of astrology.
2008 Nominees: James Herschel Holden, Alphee Lavoie, Michael Munkasey, Diana Rosenberg, Siegfried Schiemenz, Ph.D.

Education: Recognizes the work of teaching through the published and spoken word, or the founding of schools and study programs.
2008 Nominees: Dennis M. Harness, Ph.D., J. Lee Lehman, Ph.D., Ena Stanley, Gisele Terry and Richard Smoot, Noel Tyl

Theory and Understanding: Recognizes one whose work demonstrates the use of astrology with other disciplines and thereby encourages acceptance of astrology as a separate philosophical model or recognized discipline.
2008 Nominees: Bernadette Brady, Arthyr Chadbourne, Steven Forrest, Alan Oken, Robert Schmidt

Community Service: Recognizes service above and beyond the call of duty, promoting good will and positive communication among astrologers.
2008 Nominees: Margie Herskovitz, Chris McRae, Roxana Muise, Dorothy Oja, Donna Van Toen

Professional Image: Recognizes the astrologer as seen in business, community and in the public media exhibiting ethical professional standards and performance.
